Job Summary:
At Nashville Audio Visual, our mission is simple—deliver exceptional audio-visual solutions and outstanding service. We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Technician to oversee technical operations, troubleshoot complex AV issues, and mentor a team of technicians. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, hands-on AV experience, and the ability to lead successful event productions from setup to execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, train, and supervise a team of AV technicians, ensuring high standards of service and professionalism.
- Diagnose and resolve audio-visual technical issues efficiently, both in preparation and on-site.
- Oversee installation, operation, maintenance, and breakdown of AV systems across various event settings.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
- Collaborate with production and project managers to plan and execute flawless AV setups.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including service reports, inventory logs, and event checklists.
- Manage inventory of AV equipment, tools, and supplies, ensuring readiness for events.
- Act as the primary point of contact for complex or escalated technical issues during events.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching to team members to promote growth.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Several years of professional AV experience in live event production, corporate meetings, or installations.
- Proven leadership and team management abilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Expertise in troubleshooting AV signal flows, networking, and system connectivity.
- Familiarity with AV technologies such as digital mixers, video switchers, projection systems, LED walls, and conferencing tools.
- Ability to read and interpret AV system diagrams, schematics, and floor plans.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Industry certifications (e.g., AVIXA CTS, Dante, or similar) are a plus.
- Ability to lift and transport AV equipment and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience training and mentoring AV technicians in field or warehouse settings.
- Strong project management skills and ability to coordinate multiple events or installations.
- Familiarity with specific technologies used at Nashville Audio Visual (e.g., Q-SYS, Shure, Barco, Blackmagic, etc.).
