A National EdTech Audience.
One Flawless General Session.

When 1EdTech brought their conference to Nashville, the general session at the Grand Hyatt Nashville had to do a lot of work at once: welcome a room full of education-technology leaders, project detailed member presentations clearly to every seat, and keep a tight run-of-show moving without a single hiccup.

This is an audience that lives and breathes technology. The standards, interoperability, and digital-learning organizations in that room notice when something is even slightly off. That raised the bar on everything — from how crisp the screen content looked to how natural the presenter sounded from the back row.

"When the room is full of technology experts, your production has to be invisible. The content is the star — our job is to make sure nothing ever gets in its way."

Big-Screen Clarity, Every Seat

The general session was built around dual large-format projection — twin Epson laser projectors filling matched Da-Lite screens that flanked the stage. Wide, bright, and color-accurate, the setup meant a member slide packed with data read just as clearly from the back of the Grand Hyatt ballroom as it did from the front row.

Presenter content ran from Apple MacBooks at front-of-house, fed through a Blackmagic switcher that managed slides, transitions, and live camera shots in real time. Sony cameras captured the speakers for image magnification, so every gesture and every word landed — no matter where an attendee was seated.

Audio You Never Think About

Great conference audio is the kind nobody comments on — because it just works. We mixed Shure wireless microphones on a Midas digital console, delivering warm, intelligible speech across the entire room with zero feedback and no dead spots. Podium, handhelds, and lavaliers were all dialed in and gain-staged before rehearsal, so presenters could simply walk up and talk.

Lighting That Sets the Tone

To give the stage depth and brand personality, we layered lighting with Pro Lights fixtures and ETC-style Leko ellipsoidals projecting custom gobo texture across the scenic towers, while cool blue uplighting wrapped the room's perimeter drape. The result framed the 1EdTech brand cleanly on stage and kept the focus exactly where it belonged — on the presenters and their screens.

From load-in at the Grand Hyatt to the final session, the production ran clean. For a room full of technologists, that's the highest compliment there is.
